every year I am on the lookout for how brands are using social media during the game, how they are leveraging it in their commercials, and what kind of gaffs they make while doing so. Despite the recent resurgence of that silly Facebook copyright status hoax that is making it’s rounds again, and the many articles I’ve read on the subject, I haven’t heard anyone comment on the points I am about to drop on you. It’s time to start listening, monitoring, and watching with social media tools for alerts. Still, it is important to remember that tools only help you pay attention. These tools help you recognize opportunities to connect, engage, or defend your brand message with your audience, they don’t automatically solve issues with it.
